Sea Experience, an award-winning PADI dive center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is relocating oceanside to a new location at Pier Sixty-Six, a brand-new development of an iconic local setting. This new development will house a marina, 10 restaurants, three swimming pools, a hotel, residences, vacation club and more.

For divers, this means that Sea Experience is now part of a convenient location where out-of-towners can fly in, take a taxi ride and spend a weekend or week at this expansive compound, enjoying daily diving, evening cocktails with waterfront views and luxury stays.

The new Sea Experience location is right next to the dive boat. From there, it’s just a five-minute boat ride to the ocean, giving divers more time to enjoy the wrecks, reefs and marine life.

This stretch of Fort Lauderdale serves up more than 20 wrecks and a dozen reef sites. A typical dive trip starts with a wreck then includes a shallower reef. The second dive is often done as a drift, allowing divers to cover ample real estate and chance upon goliath grouper, barracuda, lobsters, loggerhead sea turtles and much more.

The crown jewel of Fort Lauderdale wrecks is the Mercedes, a 200-foot cargo vessel built in Germany in 1952 and purpose-sunk in 1985. Today, it’s encrusted with color and surrounded by patch reefs and billows of yellowtail snapper and jacks.

Sea Experience will continue to offer packages that include accommodations, giving divers a discount on Pier Sixty-Six stays as well as options at more affordable properties.

Go Pro

Sea Experience is also a state-licensed scuba education facility, offering six training sessions a year to become a dive instructor. They’re approved to accept VA benefits from students who have been in the military. Even if someone starts with zero scuba experience, they can receive training to become a divemaster, instructor or MSDT. Students gain coaching in what it takes to work at a resort, and can take advantage of Sea Experience’s active, expansive job-placement program that helps their graduates meet the increasing worldwide demand for instructors.

2026 Readers Choice Awards

Sea Experience ranked among the top five operators in its region in the Best Overall and Quality of Training and Courses categories.
