Dominica (pronounced Dom-in-EEK-a), and not to be confused with the Dominican Republic, lies south of Guadeloupe and north of Martinique in the Eastern Caribbean. Known as "The Nature Island", Dominica is the trailhead to nature and adventure for travelers – a diver’s dream and hiker’s paradise.

The island's volcanic features seen on land extend underwater, the dramatic terrain inclusive of volcanic craters, chasms, geothermal vents spewing champagne-like bubbles and plunging walls just off shore. The heavy volcanic sand and deep waters offshore ensure year round visibility averaging 80ft/24m.

There are three main locations for diving, the South West, the Central West Coast and the North West Coast - with additional dive sites outside of these areas. Eight fully equipped dive operators on the island will take you on boats to the best dive sites in their area, knowledgeable Dive Masters ready to share what Dominica has to offer.

Dominica's nature adventures are emphasized by its rainforests covering two thirds of the island. It has the longest walking trail in the Caribbean with the option to use one of the trail segments to hike to the second largest boiling lake in the world, or embark on a birding excursion to find the endemic Sisserou.

From lush tropical hikes and waterfalls to volcanic vents and plunging sea walls. Colorful reefs and soft corals… Endangered sea turtles and sperm whales… Dive into the crystal clear waters of Dominica and find out why Dominica is not only one of the top Caribbean diving destinations, but one of the best diving experiences in the world.
