Genesis Icon Dive Mask: ScubaLab Best Buy
We tested the Genesis Icon dive mask. Offering great performance and an excellent field of view, it was our Best Buy for dual-lens masks.
We tested masks in the field at Alexander Springs Recreation Area in Central Florida. We evaluated masks for the ease and security of making mask adjustments and the overall comfort of the mask in the water. We also rated masks for their field of view, how effectively their seals kept our faces dry, and how easy they were to clear and equalize.
With a low-volume design that puts the lenses closer to the diver’s eyes, the Icon offers an excellent field of view that was further enhanced by the clear skirt on our test sample. It took the top score for field of view. “Nice bright view” and “feels very open” were how some test divers described it.
Rotating mask buckles feature a quick-disconnect, allowing for easy on and off without readjusting the mask strap.
The mask’s textured and feather-edged skirt scored very good for both comfort and dryness. “Soft, smooth skirt feels nice on face,” one tester said.
Picked as a favorite by multiple test divers and offering solid performance at a below-average price, the Icon is our Best Buy for dual-lens masks.
