Scandinavian DiversEscape to a slice of heaven at Scandi Divers Resort
Scandi Divers Resort is quickly trending as one of the hottest getaways worldwide. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, this PADI Five Star facility has catered to divers who come to explore reefs with the highest concentrations of marine life ever recorded. This dive center shines for going above and beyond. So much so that for two years in a row, this operator ranked first in the Quality of Staff category for the Pacific, Indian and Mediterranean region.
Forty dive sites abundant with macro life are no more than 15 minutes away by boat. Any given dive can bring sightings of tiny pygmy seahorses, giant clams or the colossal thresher shark. The roster of sites includes deep wall dives, yellow-sand muck dives, the adrenaline- fueled drift dive Canyons and the famous 98-foot cargo ship wreck Alma Jane, home to frogfish and schooling snapper and batfish. A must-do is a trip to the nearby Verde Island, considered the “center of the center” for marine biodiversity, including psychedelic frogfish and ornate ghost pipefish. This area also now rivals Malapascua Island for thresher shark sightings.
The full-service dive center has an on-site training pool, as well as meticulously maintained rental equipment and a large, 15-station camera room.
The resort’s rooms are located along a white beach. Scandi also offers a relaxing spa and a beachside restaurant that dishes up a mix of Western fare along with Thai curries and local Filipino dishes. There’s also an end-of-week party with fire dancers to further elevate every trip from amazing to unforgettable.
