Truli-Ful The Beautiful 5 mm Wetsuit Review: ScubaLab Testers Choice

ScubaLab's test team reviewed and evaluated the Truli-Ful the Beautiful 5 mm wetsuit in its latest scuba wetsuit review.

ScubaLab tested the Truli-Ful The Beautiful women’s 5 mm wetsuit. Warm and comfortable with a female-friendly cut, it was our Testers Choice for women’s 5 mm wetsuits.

We tested the Truli-ful at Alexander Springs and Devils Den in Central Florida and Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, Florida, with water temperatures in the lower 70s. We conducted a series of test dives were testers scored the wetsuit in seven categories including ease of donning, fit, comfort and warmth.

Despite the fanciful name and Funfetti design, this front-zip from women’s-only suit maker Truli turned out to be seriously comfortable and warm, with thoughtful features test divers appreciated. With a soft, low collar of rolled smooth skin above the hidden zipper closure, the suit has no Velcro to catch on hair or bathing suit. A long ribbon sewn into the inside near the zipper top lets you pull the suit off your shoulder without stressing your joints or the suit’s seams. The ankle cuffs have an ergonomic notch at the back to relive pressure and keep the cuff flat against the skin. But what divers liked most was the fit of the tailored-for-women shape. “Definitely cut with a woman in mind,” one tester commented. “Nice fit!” noted another. The diamond-patterned fleece lining is soft and thick and extends throughout the suit, helping it take an excellent score for comfort, and very good for warmth. Test divers debated the polka dot pattern, but not the made-for-a-woman comfort. The Truli-Ful is our Testers Choice for women’s suits.
