Richard Branson and Guy Harvey set out to witness a grouper spawning off Little Cayman earlier this year. See what they saw in this incredible 360-degree video below:

The Cayman Island Department of Environment and REEF.org have been working for more than a decade to protect and research the annual aggregation. Branson visited Little Cayman in February to check up on the current conservation efforts of the Nassau grouper population and to see if these efforts could be exported to other islands. Branson and Harvey brought further awareness to the region and the incredible spawning aggregation that happens annually off the island of Little Cayman.

“It was like being in the maternity ward of the ocean, with thousands of fish mating together," wrote Branson in his blog. "The whole of the sea became like a giant cloud and the ocean looked like sky.”

It was reported by the Cayman Compass that Harvey's production team was on site filming a sequel to the "Mystery of the Grouper Moon" as well as the 360 virtual reality video above.
